well, la-dee-dah

well the glamour of the holidays is finally wearing off
and the harsh light of reality has returned again
i have a solo show in 2 weeks and now
is the crazy time when everything is expected
to nicely fall into place and be a success

i'm kinda having some crazy christmas flashbacks
i always feel in a wild frenzy before christmas
worrying that i don't have all my shopping/creating done
and then suddenly it all falls into place and
everyone's smiling & celebrating the next day
fingers crossed for my opening...

i feel that this new body of work is nearing completion
but in some ways it's hard to let go
i've been speaking in this ink & pastel language,
dealing with axes, electricity and horny birds,
thinking in bold shapes & colors for months
and now i've got to switch to
publicity, pricing and openings
