passive aggressives

conjured up something to stand behind/something to stand beside
a shield of sorts, fortified with chlorophyll & poison-dipped sticks
a layer of watermelon sugar pulses jellylike, deflecting/absorbing blows
a many-legged, amorphous creature stands guard in my visual periphery
a shimmering coat of glossy scales draped over heavy forms softens shape
together we move forward into strange, uncharted territory
