comical convention

just got back from san-fran CA! (pictures!)
had a blast at this year's APE
helping the uber-talented Monica Gallagher
promote & distribute her ongoing
mythocomical masterpiece God & Undergrads

i am in continuous amazement
of Monica's diligence, superb style,
and amazing grasp of color and expression
employed in her impressive body of work

look out for her first collected volume
of Gods & Undergrads in kick-ass color
debuting at MoCCA this summer!

enough for all

well after all the freaking out for weeks
artomatic & open studios went wonderfully

opening night of artomatic was mobbed
there was a fire dancing show in the courtyard
of this imposing office building
which signaled total artist takeover
gotta go back for a closer look

open studios was a blast, as always
shoved couches aside for a new
hanging multi-sculptural conglomeration,
Lori set me up with a killer food spread,
got to display Gayle's awesome fountain,
chatted with gallery managers, met new neighbors,
talked shop with other artists, including the
very talented Kristina Bilonick & Sean Hennessy,
had some dad-support, and just did it way big...

got up early and got in with the
masses flocking toward tidal basin

slumped under a tree i took in
the blossom motion from tree to grass

slightest breeze sets off crazy flurry,
any resistance blossom-battered
to the petal-littered grassy floor
