sketchy reservations

as the host of a restaurant
one of the tools of my new trade
is the reservation/waitinglist pad,
a long strip of temptation in my eyes

you can usually gage a day's business
by the amount of the pad covered by
my addictive scribblings of word & symbol
it's like having a mini sketchbook-on-the-go

this particular page charts my mind's progress
on a sluggish MLK monday lunch shift...
still sore from a prince dance party the night before
i conjured up a tropical beach party in space
there might be some slight inspiration from
the trippy space settings of super mario galaxy
but i think SPACE BEACH is the perfect setting
for a interstellar PRINCE DANCE PARTY!!

add some ginger

early morning dew drops moisten waxy petals
red shell ginger at its most potent...
sharp red contrast against grass green
didn't think to drink the drips for was there flavor in them?

wish i'd done that

it doesn't happen often but every once and awhile
i see something by another artist that just makes me
blush with envy wishing i had thought of it first...
