"future reflections"

leapt from my car, raced up the stairs, and threw open my window
the artic blast stirred up wind chimes overhead in an excitable frenzy
billowy gusts of powdery roof snow swirled across sightlines
a deep murky shadow was sucking the white out of the moon
frozen in awe, it was all i could to to watch the slow sliver sinking
somewhat like a reverse sunset as watched through a glass eye?
if you like my lunar e, come see my new glitter-encrusted p

glitteration

as every inch of my apartment and body
become infused with glitter from my new piece
and i'm seeing trails as light bounces off of every fleck
i realize i've exhibited a great deal of restraint thus far
in not finding a way to work glitter into everything i make
it's intoxicating... i lay drooling over how magical it is to gaze upon
it's like we shouldn't be able to be exposed to such stimulation
which is exactly the perfect reason to use glitter in my work!

a glimpse of peace

i'm not often inclined to make mock-ups,
half-assed versions of my vision, why not go all the way??
so when i began thinking/sketching out my next piece
i was suddenly compelled into a frenzy of foam & paint,
a much needed reconnection with the magic of glitter,
and suddenly there it was... un maquette du prix de paix!
i am quite taken with the rough results thus far
but can't get too attached at this stage,
it can only get bigger and better from here
