smoke the sky!

the sky was trying to tell me something
early this morning out my window
thwarting attempts at finally getting to bed

it began as a flat lifeline in cloud form
which was suddenly set ablaze from below
becoming something of a lit fuse...

the sun's appearance was heralded with
a virtual fireworks display of twisting wisps,
spiral smoke trails, and richteresque color smears

if i weren't so busy trying to record it in pictures
maybe i would have received its message...

fallin' down & lookin' around

all worked up

added this and some other new works to my drawing gallery..

how can i go to sleep?

how can i possibly go to sleep
when the night sky, swelling with soft light
cracks open, leaking liquid orange pink fire...

clouds caught up in the swirling day-break drama
setting the stage for the sun's big debut...

i retreat beneath cool pillow before sun scorch sets in

pleasing poolside shapes
